Operating Instructions:
Step 1: Before using the tenderizer for the first time, it is recommended that it be cleaned. Step 2: Place steak, roast or other cut of meat on the cutting board. Remove the cover from your Jaccard® meat tenderizer. Step 3: Gently press your Jaccard® meat tenderizer over the top of the steak, roast or other cut of meat. Avoid all bones. Repeat this process covering the entire piece of meat 2 to 5 times or as often as desired. Step 4: For thicker cuts of meat and roasts, turn the piece of meat over and repeat the process on the other side. Step 5: Clean your Jaccard® meat tenderizer. The unit is dishwasher safe and can be cleaned simply by placing the assembled unit without the cover attached, in the dishwasher (top rack only). Step 6: If you prefer to remove the blade cartridge and the blade guide slide for cleaning, follow steps 7 through 9. Step 7: Removal of blade cartridge: While the tenderizer is on the cutting board with the blade tips down, push and hold the cartridge release button to the left (blue button with the Jaccard logo). This will release the cam locking mechanism holding the cartridge in place. While still holding the cartridge release button to the left, push down on the handle of tenderizer to fore the blade cartridge up through the handle. Carefully remove the blade cartridge. Step 8: Removal of blade guide slide: After blade cartridge has been removed, locate the finger grip on the bottom of the blade guide slide and pull the blade guide slide off of the stripper frame assembly. Step 9: Re-assembly: First insert blade cartridge into tenderizer handle until it locks into place. Then assemble blade guide slide by sliding it back over blade tips and onto stripper frame.
